Around-the-clock support for loved ones who shouldn't be alone.
There comes a point in many families’ caregiving journeys when a few hours of help each day isn’t enough. Maybe your loved one has started wandering at night. Maybe a recent fall has made leaving them alone feel unsafe. Maybe advancing dementia, serious illness, or frailty means they need someone nearby every hour of every day — not just for tasks, but for safety, reassurance, and peace of mind.
At Lonestar Home Healthcare, our Live-In and 24-Hour Care services provide continuous, trusted support that lets your loved one stay in their own home — where memories live, where routines feel safe, and where dignity stays intact — even when round-the-clock care is needed.
For many families, this is the alternative to a nursing home or assisted living facility. And for most seniors, home wins every time.
Live-In Care vs. 24-Hour Care — understanding the difference.
These two services are often confused, but they work differently. We offer both, and the right choice depends on your loved one’s needs.
Live-In Care A single caregiver stays in your loved one’s home for 24-hour shifts (typically 2–5 days at a time). The caregiver has designated sleep hours at night — usually 8 hours of rest in a provided bedroom — and is available to respond if needed during those hours. Best for clients who sleep through the night reliably and need daytime support plus overnight reassurance.
24-Hour Care (Around-the-Clock Care) Two or three caregivers rotate through shifts (typically 8–12 hours each), ensuring a fully awake, alert caregiver is present at all times — including overnight. Best for clients who wake frequently, wander, have advanced dementia, or need hands-on care during the night.

Why families across DFW choose home-based continuous care:
Choosing Live-In or 24-Hour Care instead of a nursing home offers significant advantages:
- Familiar environment — home is where memories live, especially important for clients with dementia
- Higher quality of life — seniors in their own homes consistently report better mood, less anxiety, and stronger cognitive function than those in facilities
- One-on-one care — in a facility, one aide cares for 10–20 residents. At home, your loved one has undivided attention.
- Consistent caregivers — the same trusted faces, not rotating staff strangers
- Family access without restrictions — visit anytime, no visiting hours, no lockdowns
- Personalized routines — meals, wake times, activities, and preferences stay intact
- Often more affordable than nursing homes — especially when compared to private-pay memory care facilities in DFW
Why families choose Lonestar for continuous care:
- Carefully matched caregiver teams — we assemble a small, consistent team so your loved one sees the same familiar faces
- Experienced with complex cases — dementia, post-stroke, hospice support, and advanced mobility needs
- Background-checked, drug-tested, and trained — trusted professionals living in or spending extended hours in your home
- Detailed care documentation — every shift logged, every change communicated, every family member kept informed
- Supervisor oversight — our team checks in regularly to ensure quality and address any concerns
